Tax Increase, schmax increase. I'm eating the percent! I'm not in this for the money.
John Pinson Outdoor Photography and Writing specializes in outdoor, wilderness and travel photography. John Pinson Outdoor Photography strives to capture nature as is, in natural light, as it happened, without alteration. Offering high-quality archival prints, designed to last up to 80 years, these products are far superior to prints made by traditional darkroom processes.
I try to capture the best photographs possible and deliver the remarkable colors of the world through the latest digital processes, bringing these extraordinary moments into your home or office. By using available light, these photographs show the true beauty of the planet and help create a greater understanding and appreciation of these natural phenomena.
From my home in the Inland Empire, I have covered the outdoor scene as a contributor to the Outdoor section of the Riverside Press Enterprise. With a naturalist’s eye, I have worked hard to capture natural phenomena as they happen, from the grandest storm at sunset spanning from horizon to horizon, to the smallest desert wildflower.
Instead of imitating shots already taken by Ansel Adams, David Muench or Galen Rowell, all excellent photographers, I try to bring a unique perspective to the subject matter, highlighting the significance of the subject. For example, while many others have captured the twisted forms of the ancient Bristlecone pines, here you can find documentation of the subtle genetic differences between individual trees, such as the contrasts between specimens with green versus purple cones, or twisted versus straight trunks. All images are captured in aesthetic and pleasing ways to suit the décor of most homes.
John Pinson Outdoor Photography currently offers selections from a range of subject in nature, as well as some travel photography.
Among the subjects included here are desert flora and fauna with an emphasis on birds, and desert wildflowers, all precisely and scientifically identified, as well as important and beautiful desert lands. Offered here is one of the few serious photographic studies of the Old Woman Mountains of California.
Images captured on the water while fishing and getting stories for a regular column on the outdoors are also included here. Fishing images range from freshwater to saltwater, from big game like marlin and the exotic dorado, to colorful golden trout from their haunts, deep in the high country of the Sierras.
Also included are mountain scenes from the Sierra Nevada and the Rockies of Colorado, as well as the rugged coasts of Maine and California.
As well, I have carried my camera with me to the United Kingdom and Europe, capturing unique and stunning travel photographs in England, Paris and Ireland. These are included here for purchase along side my outdoor and nature photography.
Photographs can be ordered in 5x7, 8x10 and 11x14 sizes, whenever the image suits these standard formats. Images can also be purchased full frame at approximately 13x19 measure actual. All prints can be ordered directly from the site, either on their own or matted using chemically stable, museum grade materials. Also, special order prints can be made to any size imaginable and can be framed to your specification using the best materials and done by the same framers used by the best museums in the Inland Empire.
